"Ask not what you can do for your country. Ask what's for lunch." - Orson Welles (1915-1985)

"Opened in 2007 by the very bald Robert Zoller, who relocated his family here from Hoboken, New Jersey, this lively family-style restaurant serves a variety of fare... most of it made from fresh ingredients. The day begins with traditional breakfasts and moves on to a variety of salads and sandwiches, including soft shell crab and very good crabcakes made the traditional Chesapeake way with backfin meat and a touch of Old Bay seasoning. Main courses also include soft shells and crabcakes, plus oysters, shrimp, flounder, steaks, and a few pastas. All in all, it's a very good value!"

"What really set this restaurant apart from the others was the staff. They were phenomenal. They were so friendly and kind and genuine. They all greeted us when we entered, ooohed and ahhhhed over the boys and generally bent over backward to make us feel welcome. Mr. Baldy's is one of the only restaurants on the island I'd truly recommend to families. I wish we'd found it sooner! Also, after reading their bulletin board, it looks like they have lots of family-friendly activities every month." 01/12/09

"We have been visiting Chincoteague since 1991. We have been eating at "Baldy's" ever since. What a find. It feels like home and family. Great home made food and great fellowship. Thanks for making us feel so welcome." - Lynne and Jim from Level Green PA
"Hi Mr Baldy! We enjoyed quite a few meals... Breakfast and dinner at your resturant last year . We will be coming to Chincoteague the week of Sept 2009 and you will most definitely see us again. The food is great!" - Donna from West Suffield CT
"Great local food! Seafood & American food. Yum! Both really good. The food is not only good, but also at a very reasonable price. We enjoy eating here before we leave the island each time on Sunday afternoon (our Friday & Saturday evenings at the Chincoteaque Island Square Up - a Square Dance weekend). This restaurant is the best kept local secret! When we asked, a local told us about the great restaurant. On the quiet or Ridge Road (southeast) side of town. :-) I'd like to come to the island and to this place more!"

"We had great meals in your restaurant the week of July 4th, 2009." - Barb from Lancaster PA
